The UK House of Lords International Relations and Defence Committee has recently published their report, "Ukraine: a wake-up call," which highlights crucial areas where the UK must adapt and strengthen its approach to homeland defence.
At Resilience & Security Frameworks, we fully support the report's emphasis on the need for innovation and the better integration of SMEs in the defence and security market. As an organisation that values such organisations, we are keen to help them work collaboratively and meet the challenge that the Committee have set. Now, more than ever, we need to rethink how we leverage agile solutions and novel technologies, empowering smaller businesses to play a significant role in safeguarding our nation.
The report also underlines the importance of our critical national infrastructure (CNI) in building a resilient homeland defence strategy. Protecting our energy, transport, and communication networks is not just a government task—it's a collective responsibility where both the public and private sectors must collaborate seamlessly. These lessons from Ukraine show just how much this will affect us all if we do not.
Our work at Resilience & Security Frameworks is rooted in ensuring that the necessary procurement frameworks and consultancy services are in place to help our clients navigate these complex challenges. From supporting SMEs in accessing opportunities to enhancing resilience of CNI, we are proud to be at the forefront of delivering practical solutions for a safer future.
We must ensure that the lessons from Ukraine serve as a catalyst for positive change and strengthened resilience.
